Theme: Egyptian Revival

Description

In Egyptian Revival, the scarab is the one motif you see the most often. Lalique created glass scarabs, Victorian women wore pins made from the carcasses of dead scarabs – everywhere you looked, there were scarabs. In Ancient Egypt, the scarab was associated with the god of the rising sun – Khepri. The scarab became the symbol of rebirth and images of scarabs, including on jewelery, are often found in Egyptian tombs. This is a wonderful scarab celluloid frame. While it lacks color, the design stands out.

Size: 5.5 inches wide, 4 inches tall.
Value: 4 out of 10, with 10 being the most expensive.
